COVALENCE® 2 LAYER SERIES
COVALENCE® 2 LAYER SERIES
The COVALENCE® two-layer sleeve system consists of a first layer of pressure sensitive adhesive and a second layer of irradiated cross- linked, polyethylene backing. The system is widely used with Fusion Bonded Epoxy, Coal Tar, Epoxy, PolyUrethane, 3-Layer Polyethylene (3LPE) mainline coatings. A (wire) brush surface cleaning is suitable for all COVALENCE® two-layer systems.
- Base Layer: Liquid epoxy as an anti-corrosion protective layer.
- Outer Layer: Cross-linked polyethylene backing with integrated high-performance adhesive.
- Surface Preparation: Minimum St2/St3 wire brushed surface.
- Application Method: Hot application using propane torches or automated solutions.
- Material Consumption: Single-wrap application.
- Technical Performance: Fully functional once cooled to ambient temperature.

COVALENCE® 3 LAYER SERIES

The system are designed to be used with three-layer mainline coatings (3LPE, 3LPP). Blast cleaning is required for COVALENCE® three-layer systems.

COVALENCE® DIRAX HDD
DIRAX is a leading high-performance heat shrink sleeve system designed specifically for corrosion protection and mechanical protection of pipelines, including those in challenging environments such as directional drilling, river crossings, and other extreme conditions. This advanced solution ensures long-term durability and reliability for both onshore and offshore applications.
- Base Layer: Liquid epoxy acts as an anti-corrosion protective layer.
- Middle Layer: High-Performance Hot Melt Adhesive:
- Outer Layer: Cross-Linked Polyethylene Backing
- Surface Preparation: Minimum requirement of St2/St3 wire brushed surface cleaning for two-layer systems. Sa 2.5 abrasive blast cleaning required for three-layer systems.
- Base Layer Application: Apply liquid epoxy to the prepared surface as the primary anti-corrosion layer.
- Outer Layer Application: Heat the cross-linked polyethylene backing with integrated adhesive using propane torches or induction coils until it conforms tightly to the pipeline surface.
Product Specs
- HTLP60-DCS: A 3-layer wraparound heat-shrinkable sleeve mimicking factory-applied coatings, suitable for temperatures up to 65°C.
- HTLP80: Designed for higher temperature applications, providing protection up to 85°C.
- HTLP80-HP: An enhanced version for even more demanding conditions, compliant with ISO 21809-3 Type 14-B2 standards.
- HTLP-PP: Suitable for polypropylene-coated pipelines, withstanding temperatures up to 120°C.
